Using AI to detect empty rhetoric (instead of just generating it)

In addition to generating it (!), AI can be used for *detecting* empty rhetoric.

Is the sentence below empty rhetoric?

“By addressing both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors, AI-based chatbots can play a key role in creating effective learning environments.”

>> Yes, it’s empty rhetoric – the sentence sounds academic but conveys no real substance:

>> It makes a sweeping claim about chatbots’ capabilities without explaining how they would actually create effective learning environments

>> “Play a key role” is a meaningless filler phrase that commits to nothing specific

>> There’s no explanation of what these “effective learning environments” look like or how to measure their effectiveness

Empty rhetoric is a huge problem. Reading it wastes so much cognitive energy. Producing and *trying to read* empty rhetoric are cognitive activities that waste enormous amounts of cognitive energy at a global scale.

Maybe we should have AI check each paper for empty rhetoric before submitting?
